In May 2023, I left my position as Executive Director of All Stars Helping Kids, gave up my apartment, put everything into storage and headed to Ukraine. I have been volunteering in Ukraine helping people and communities that have been devastated by the full scale Russian invasion and on-going atrocities. I am providing humanitarian aid and medical supplies to combat medics and front line defenders as well as helping to rebuild schools, homes and communities damaged by shelling, flooding and other acts of war.
As a volunteer, we are responsible for all of our living and travel expenses as well as purchasing equipment and supplies. I would greatly appreciate any support. To learn more and to donate, please visit my Stand with Ukraine page. All donations go directly to supporting my humanitarian aid work here in Ukraine.
I am currently volunteering with a group of amazing local NGO’s here in Ukraine. Learn more and help support the incredibly vital work these organizations perform:
Brave to Rebuild (Kyiv): A volunteer initiative that helps repair homes and schools in the previous occupied areas of Ukraine that were damaged by the Russian invasion.
Pekelna Kitchen (Kharkiv): Volunteers providing 800 meals a day for Kharkiv residents, hospitals, humanitarian organizations and front line defenders.
Spravzhni Ukraine (Kherson): Helping to repair & rebuild homes and critical infrastructure damaged by Russian shelling, flooding, and acts of war in the previous occupied areas of Kherson.
H.U.G.S. Helping Ukraine Grassroots Support (Kharkiv) – providing food, shelter, medical supplies, ground transportation to civilians in need of support, as well as arranging critical services to all who require help.
International Legion Fund: The charitable foundation established to support the International Legion for the Defence of Ukraine, other military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and Ukrainian law enforcement agencies.

Helping grantmakers leverage their assets to support nonprofit sustainability and outcomes.
Building the financial, fundraising, and adaptive capacities of social sector organizations.
Helping funders and nonprofit leaders understand the key drivers of financial sustainability.
Social Sector Partners provides a range of workshops, webinars and in-person training for funders, nonprofit leaders, board members and staff. Any training can be customized or adapted for the specific needs of your organization. We offer webinars, 60-90 minute presentations, half-day workshops or full-day training.
How can funders best support equity, inclusive economies and opportunity for all when grantees are struggling to keep their doors open? To move the needle on these vital issues, it is not just about WHAT you fund, but HOW you fund.
Social Impact Bonds, Pay for Success, Impact Investing, Hybrids, B-Corps, PRIs, MRIs, Social Entrepreneurship. Just what exactly is all this buzz about? In many ways, it is ultimately about increasing the size of the pie. It is about thinking of new ways to attract more money from either the private sector or government to address the challenges we are facing in our local communities. How can nonprofits develop new and innovative approaches that increase impact? How can funders better leverage their assets to drive mission outcomes?
This interactive and engaging workshop will help social sector leaders understand the key pieces of financial data that are critical to making better, more informed decisions that drive organizations sustainability. Featuring real world case studies and small group work, this workshop will increase the comfort level of nonprofit leaders in reading and interpreting nonprofit financial statements and will enhance their ability to communicate their financial needs to their supporters, funders, and board.
Instead of hoping for the ‘new normal’, nonprofit leaders need to focus on adaptability. How can social sector organizations adapt to the continually evolving needs of their clients, communities, and philanthropic partners? George Floyd, Covid, the war in Ukraine – none of these were expected and nonprofits were left scrambling to respond to these sudden challenges. This engaging presentation will help leaders better understand what it takes to be an adaptive organization and how to be ready to lead – rather than simply react – to the next crisis.
Helping grantmakers assess the financial health as well as the business and investment needs of their grantees. It is not about whether to fund or not, but how to structure your support in a way that drives both mission outcomes along with ensuring the financial sustainability of your nonprofit partners.
Finance is about decision making. What financial data are you using to help drive decisions? Typically, most of the financial data we have available is designed for tax and compliance purposes not for strategic decision making. What you and your board need to know is not the same as what the IRS or state attorney general needs to know. To get to the key pieces of data that matter to your financial sustainability, you have to know where to look on your financials and understand what those numbers mean.
Our financial analysis will help uncover not only the organization’s programmatic revenue needs but also identify the organizations capacity, liquidity and reserves needs so leadership can make an informed decision about how best to ensure financial sustainability and impact.
